“We know that choosing the best shipping and freight options depends entirely on your specific business requirements. There are several different options, so it helps to think through which method makes sense for your budget and timeline.”

Import Duties & Taxes

There are multiple ways you can choose to ship something. You can send it by sea, air, post or courier.

Depending on what you need to ship and where you need to ship it, you might need to consider different options that can be wildly different in freight charges, transit times, and security.

Obviously, we want to help you make the best decision for your budget and shipping needs.

Regulatory Compliance

If you choose an express courier service like DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT (which is often the most common choice for businesses just starting out), you can rest assured that your package is in good hands.

Document Preparation

Air freight is the next step up. While still fast, it is generally used for heavier shipments that are too expensive for courier services but need to arrive much quicker than sea freight.

HS Code Classification

Ocean freight is the most cost-effective method for large volume shipments. Transit times are longer, but the savings for bulk orders are substantial.

Frequently Asked Questions

WeBOC (Web-Based One Customs) is Pakistan Customs’ official electronic clearance platform. Speedline’s licensed customs brokers prepare and file the Goods Declaration (GD), upload mandatory shipping documents, manage tariff assessments, and secure electronic gate passes.

We maintain dedicated customs clearance operations at all primary entry points: Karachi Port (East & West Wharves, KICT, PICT, SAPT), Port Muhammad Bin Qasim (QICT), Air Freight Units (JIAP Karachi, Allama Iqbal Lahore, Islamabad), and inland dry ports (Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Peshawar, Multan).

Standard import clearance requires: Commercial Invoice, Detailed Packing List, Bill of Lading (BL) or Air Waybill (AWB), Certificate of Origin (Form CP for China), copy of NTN/STRN, and any applicable regulatory compliance certificates.

Import duties are assessed on the CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight) value of goods based on their 8-digit Harmonized System (HS) code. Key components include Customs Duty (CD), Regulatory Duty (RD), Additional Customs Duty (ACD), Sales Tax (currently 18%), and Advance Income Tax (WHT).

Under the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA Phase-II), a valid Certificate of Origin (Form CP) allows Pakistani importers to benefit from reduced or 0% customs duty on hundreds of tariff lines originating from China.

We conduct pre-arrival document verification, initiate WeBOC manifest matching prior to vessel berthing, and process physical examination orders immediately upon container discharge, securing release within allowable port free days.

When customs systems select a consignment for the Yellow (document audit) or Red (physical inspection) channel, our licensed clearing staff attends the container destuffing and examination alongside customs officers to ensure swift clearance.
